Thalassemia Center

SRKRC has collaboration with Veer Narmad South Gujarat University to screen college students for detection of beta thalassemia trait, sickle cell trait and other hemoglobinopathies. Our institute conducts regular camps in colleges and educational institutes. So far we have screened about 35000 students. Marriage Counseling is provided to students having beta thalassemia trait or sickle cell trait. This project has a potential to reduce burden of beta thalassemia major and sickle cell disease.

Surat Raktadan Kendra and Research Centre is providing free blood to patients of thalassemia since its beginning. In last year, total 5154 patients were given blood units without any charge.

Donation for one patient, for lifetime : Rs. 2,00,000/-

People donate generously to adopt a thalassemic patient for lifetime or for one year. 100% of Donated money is exempted from income tax under sections 35 (1) (ii).
